Untitled[edit]
At last, a relatively unproblematic New Kingdom name! Hallelujah! Google gives:
- Amenhotep - 23,400
- Amonhotep - 1,530
- Amenophis - 16,000
which is great because all Egyptologists use Amenhotep. I have seen on Wike some instance of Amenotep but I think this must be a typo, as Google has only 76 for this variant. Noel 23:31, 20 Aug 2003 (UTC)
"Hermes tris megistus" (sic)[edit]
I removed this:
Identified by the Romans as Hermes tris megistus, The Messenger of the Gods
"Hermes Trismegistus" was the name that Hellenes gave to the Egyptian deity Thoth and is quite unrelated to the name Amenhotep or its root Amen/Amun.
