Hi and welcome! I hope you like the place and choose to stay :)

Here are some links that might be helpful for you: Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers Wikipedia:Village pump

By the way, when you make a short article (a stub), don't forget to add a stubnote: you can use this to copy and paste: This article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by fixing it.

Krogoth, some of your recent posts have been quite esoteric, for example Cavedog. Please keep in mind that we are creating an encyclopedia. If you wish to create an article, please elaborate or keep it relevant. Just some advice Lypheklub 06:48, 27 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Unverified images[edit]

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the imagesand I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. Peter O. (Talk, automation script) 01:52, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

June 2007[edit]

Information.svg Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Rofl. Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. Thank you. Haemo 03:51, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Lmao[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Lmao requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Yojimbo501 (talk) 00:39, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
