I only knew the french translation of Dune, and I just read the english version and I'm confused. The english versions states :
"And neither the aide nor the Ixians even knew that Ix was merely a number in a forgotten language."
While in French it is :
"... c'était que le nom de Ix n'était que celui d'une lettre dans un langage oublié" (Ix was merely the name of a letter in a forgotten language). SeeSchloß 13:44, 4 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I suspect that "lettre" may be a mistranslation. There's definitely a reference in one of the later Dune novels that says Ix got its name because it's the 9th planet of its solar system. Lee M 18:38, 25 Sep 2003 (UTC)
Probably, after reading the english version, I noticed that mistakes like this are quite numerous in the french translation... SeeSchloß 11:56, 28 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I don't remember any mention in the books that the Ixians build Guild Heighliners. Can anyone verify this with a quote? Philgp 20:50, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)

In the book House Atreides (by Brian Herbert) a few chapters deal with the Ix-Guild relation and it is stated that the Heighliners are built there.
