The Troubles

Kosovo War

The troubles? A band? A fight outside the pub? A weather event?

See The Troubles: it's the common name for the conflict in Northern Ireland. Nick-D (talk) 02:22, 6 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Jackson's mother[edit]

"Jackson's mother, Ivy (née Bower[6]), was from Yorkshire and won a scholarship to Sheffield Grammar School." Firstly, Sheffield Grammar School was boys only, and secondly it closed in 1905. The Sheffield High School is much more likely. Occuli (talk) 20:37, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I've removed the bit about her schooling. I'm pretty sure that's what the sources say, but evidently they're wrong. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:37, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

DoB[edit]

Is his Date of Birth correct? IIRC you had to be over 18 to enter RMA Sandhurst, DoB Mar 44 and entry to RMA in Jan 62 does not seem right, the Jan 62 entry is definitely correct.

Who's Who 2010 confirms a date of birth of 21 March 1944.Dormskirk (talk) 09:14, 6 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sheffield[edit]

Sheffield is in South Yorkshire, it is not in West Yorkshire. Someone keeps changing it. Why? Actually following the link to Sheffield shows you that it's in South Yorkshire. Can someone change this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.2.100.183 (talk) 18:42, 23 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This is about where he was born. South Yorkshire didn't exist in 1944—Sheffield was part of the West Riding at that time. As is also mentioned in the second sentence of the article about Sheffield. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:00, 23 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
